Has the right ports in the top to run any wires into the terrarium with out any interference from the lid (maximum of 6 wires going in)

Door is locked on latch which helps childproof it. Also has a place to put on a small lock by the latch to help further child proof.

Pleased with the air vent system towards the bottom of the product picture (about 4 inches from the bottom of tank there is a full length air vent strip) definitely helps break up and push out any gas build ups while fresh oxygen comes in from the top.

If you got the bank, buy it. So far no regrets.

When I bought it it came with dirt, lifelike foam rock backround, vine 2 fake hanging leaf plant, 1 fake fern, a light, and a water dish. My frog loves to sleep on the backround. Also the crickets climb up the backround and sit at the top. at the top there are holes to stick wires and stuff in. you can slide a bar to block them off but i realized that cricket were escaping. some tape fixed it. Over all i recomend this to any reptile or amphibian luver.

The bottom was very warped, one hole was not properly made and I had to gouge out wood to get the screw to engage the threads and worst of all, the putting together stopped all together yesterday when I was almost finish due to the fact that not a single one of the holes was drilled for the hinges. So now I have to track down my drill and drill the holes myself....grrrrr....like I said, great house but super sloppy manufacturing of the product.

Review by Bizee Mom for Zoo Med Wood Tortoise House Rating: We bought this for our new Russian tortoise and it seems to be working out very well. It was pretty easy to assemble, but required 2 people to attach the base because it was a bit warped. The enclosure gives plenty of room for a food bowl, extra large reptile ramp, and there's enough space for the UV lamp to hang over the cage and warm one side. Our tortoise seems like it much better than a glass enclosure, and every evening she goes into the closed side to sleep, then comes out in the morning for sun, food, etc. She's about 5 inches big, so if your tortoise is much bigger then this cage might be too small.

Review by Andrew for Zoo Med NT-2 Naturalistic Terrarium 12in x 12in x 18in Rating: This item was bought to replace an Exo-terra terrarium of the same dimensions (12x12x18"). I had a custom-made background with a waterfall. One day, the glass in the exo-terra cracked and started leaking everywhere.

The Zoo-med, although I haven't had it for more than a few weeks, is working really well. The single door operates well. I had to take the door off without breaking it so I could place the background from the old terrarium into the new one. The door went back on without breaking as well. I was expecting the plastic knobs that hold it there to snap off, but they're actually really sturdy. I was surprised.

I could possible see in the future the plastic latch that holds the door shut breaking. Aside from that, this terrarium is sturdy, doesn't leak (there is about 2-3" of water on the bottom), and it's pretty. The exo-terra had double doors in the front that interrupted the view, but this model doesn't.

Great for a tropical terrarium, and great for water features beyond the tacky "fake rock with water pump in it." If you've got the time, you can really make this model look nice.

It holds humidity very well and can hold quite a bit of substrate, more than enough to keep live plants, and allows easy access to do any maintenance my tarantula might need.
